For this styled shoot Jenn wanted to highlight the intimate details of the micro wedding to help couples realize that just because their wedding may be smaller than planned, it needn’t be any less elegant or stylish. Therefore, we chose the setting of the Holt House to achieve this intimacy. While I longed for pops of color that in my mind have been absent for too long in the wedding industry, we found a way to bring that out in an unexpected, romantic way. With a micro wedding, the details can be more extravagant yet still within an achievable budget, unlike similar affairs with lengthy guest lists. Having fewer guests means you can spend more money on details such as lavish flower arrangements from Grace and Greenery, personalized seating cards from Magnolia Pen and Paper, and a signature cocktail from The Wine Flower. Couples can also ask for a more ornate cake from BlueSoda Cake or a personalized lounge from Eventful NC. Not to mention you can look and feel your best by spending more money on clothing from Dawn’s Bridal and Black Tie Formal Wear and being pampered with hair and makeup by The Beauty Tribe. It is also wise to secure a planner that will meticulously ensure that your vision is brought to life and coordinates with your rental company like Party Rentals by Lisa, while your dream photographer or videographer captures every moment, vignette, and detail for you to keep forever. Being surrounded by your family and closest friends makes the event more memorable, creating a shared experience to be savored by the people you love most. You can still have the dance party you desire or the cocktail hour of your dreams, and as an added bonus, the quality time that you spend with your guests is maximized due to the smaller guest list. As a planner, I always tell my couples that the wedding they plan for may not be what happens; however, I know that the wedding that happens will truly be a wedding better than their dreams. After all, what greater joy is there than to end the day knowing you get to spend the rest of your life with your favorite person in the whole world?
