“Alan and I have known each other for several years. We were always in different relationships, but always had friends from the same crowd. After relationships/breakups for us both, he came into my work. We spoke a few words and then he went on his way. After about five minutes, he messaged me on social media and asked if I would go out with him. I told him that we were going to a concert and asked if he would be willing to join us instead. He said, ‘Sure!’ So, our first official date was Saturday, August 17th, 2019.

“On November 27th, 2019, he and my son, Deegan, hung a Christmas ornament with my beautiful engagement ring on my family’s Christmas tree. It took me a few minutes to see it, but it was one of the most beautiful moments!

“The wedding plans began! We were on the hunt for a venue, and our first choice, Oakhaven, was booked. We chose another venue, however, due to Covid, it didn’t pan out. Oakhaven ended up having a cancellation and we changed our wedding date to be able to have Oakhaven as our venue. We were so happy!

“It was simply gorgeous, and the views were breathtaking. Our family and friends worked very hard to put together such a beautiful day. At the time, we were building a home and planning a wedding, so needless to say, it was tough to focus solely on one thing, but the staff helped to make our day easy and memorable. We are so thankful for our experience as we look back on that special day.” ~ Delaney
